Case Study: Creteprint®

Client Background:

Concrete Patterning Supplies Ltd, established in the late 1980s, has grown into one of the UK’s largest companies specialising in the manufacture and supply of materials for imprinted concrete. Over the years, their products have supported hundreds of businesses in fitting thousands of driveways and patios. They are the original and leading name behind Creteprint®—a trusted brand in the driveway and patio supply sector.

Creteprint® has built a reputation for maintaining longstanding relationships with customers both in the UK and internationally. Most of their materials are manufactured in-house at their Wolverhampton plant, ensuring consistent high quality, a wide range of options, and a reliable supply chain. Their commitment to innovation is evident through continuous research and development, enabling them to remain industry leaders.

They also manufacture and supply materials for block paving, tarmac, and resin surfaces. All products conform to current industry standards, while their team of experts provides unmatched technical advice, both on and offsite.

The Challenge:

Despite being a well-established brand with a loyal customer base, Creteprint® had not undertaken any significant marketing activity prior to 2023. Their growth had largely been driven by word of mouth—a testament to their high-quality products and exceptional service. However, they recognised that relying solely on reputation was no longer enough in an increasingly digital world where customers have more choice than ever. To remain competitive and ensure future growth, Creteprint® needed to expand their marketing efforts both physically and digitally.

Their diverse customer base posed a unique challenge. While many of their products are designed for trade use, others can be easily used by homeowners. This required a tailored marketing strategy to address the differing needs, preferences, and messaging required for each group.

Our Remit:

We began working with Creteprint® in January 2023, starting with an eight-week social media supercharge package. This involved setting up Facebook and Instagram pages to establish their presence on these key platforms. Social media is an essential tool for reaching both trade customers and homeowners, allowing businesses like Creteprint® to connect with their existing and potential customers on a more personal level. The results were impressive, with 13,533 unique accounts reached, 734 profile visits, 487 content interactions, and 27 direct clicks to their online shop. We wanted to bring more humans onto their social media and incorporated regular video content from the team.

Alongside their social media efforts, we helped refresh their marketing materials. This included updated flyers, leaflets, and product application guides. We also produced a comprehensive showcase brochure, designed with longevity in mind by ensuring it wasn’t time-sensitive and allowed scope for new products within the messaging. Both printed and available digitally, this brochure provides an ongoing resource for potential and existing customers, demonstrating the range and quality of their offerings. Trade customers can take this to their homeowner customers, along with Creteprints samples kit, to help them choose their designs, giving their customers a handy tool as well.

In addition, we modernised their product labelling, creating an on-brand, cohesive look across their range. This attention to detail is crucial for maintaining a consistent brand image, which helps build trust and recognition among customers.

Simultaneously, we supported the launch of their new website, enabling Creteprint® to sell directly to customers online—an important move in reducing reliance on third-party platforms like Amazon. This direct sales capability, paired with a strategy to raise awareness of the new website, positions Creteprint® to have more control over their customer interactions and boost profitability.

Why This Marketing Activity Was Important:

The marketing activities we implemented were essential for several reasons. First, building a social media presence allowed Creteprint® to reach new audiences, strengthen relationships with existing customers through networking, and stay top of mind in a competitive market. Social media not only boosts visibility but also serves as a platform for customer engagement and feedback, which is invaluable for long-term growth.

Secondly, the refreshed marketing materials and brochure enhanced Creteprint®’s professionalism and brand consistency. In a competitive industry, having cohesive and high-quality marketing materials reinforces a company’s credibility and helps set it apart. By aligning their product labels, brochures, and guides with the updated brand image, Creteprint® ensured that every customer touchpoint felt seamless and on-brand.

Launching a new website was another critical step, as it gave Creteprint® control over their sales process and improved the customer experience. In today’s market, having an optimized online presence and making it easy for the consumer is vital for capturing sales in a streamlined way. By moving away from reliance on platforms like Amazon, Creteprint® not only improved their profit margins but also strengthened their brand’s direct relationship with customers.

Conclusion:

Thanks to these efforts, Creteprint® now has a cohesive, on-brand approach with established social media platforms, modernised marketing materials, and a functional website catering to both public and trade customers.

When approaching marketing, it’s essential that each activity is well thought out and integrated into a larger strategy. A cohesive approach ensures that every part of the business—whether it’s product labelling, digital presence, or customer interaction—aligns to create a strong and impactful brand image. Over the past two years, Creteprint® has significantly increased its marketing efforts, and we are excited to continue working with them to further enhance their brand.

Looking forward, we plan to implement events, launch TikTok and LinkedIn, utilise email marketing campaigns, secure new stockists, and target emerging markets and locations to ensure Creteprint® remains at the forefront of the industry.
